When I get it wrong, I fix it

What's on this site is a write-up of common position-sizing and risk practices, plus data anyone can look up publicly. I check it as best I can, but there will inevitably be numbers I misremember, ideas I explain muddily, or places where I later realize the thinking itself was wrong.

Spot a problem, tell me

If you see something written wrong, a figure that doesn't add up, or logic that doesn't hold, please write in and set me straight: [email protected]. Even if it's only a typo or a mislabeled year, I want to know. The more specific you are, the faster I can pin it down and fix it.

How a fix gets handled

Once I've confirmed something is wrong, I'll fix it as soon as I can and log below, by date, what was changed. Every change stays on open record, so you can check it against the article.

Correction log

13 October 2026

• In “Binance Auto-Invest (Now Convert Recurring): How to Set It Up” and “When does Binance Recurring Buy execute? Low-balance rules”, the statements about available intervals and the Index-Linked Plan have been corrected against Binance's Help Center pages: purchases can be scheduled on an hourly, daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis, and the Index-Linked Plan was not migrated to Convert Recurring.
• The site's “how much to invest” rule of thumb is now the same on every page: start at 1%–3% of investable assets, with 10% as the ceiling. The worked example in “How much should I invest in bitcoin?” used to come out at 14.3% of total assets; it is now 7.1% ($100,000 × 5% ÷ 70%).
• Price figures and statements with no traceable source have been removed. The price figures that remain are BTCUSDT monthly closes, plus daily highs and lows where stated, from Binance's public market data API, and say so where they appear.
• Some older articles have been merged into the current ten.
